Hungary

Chris, Angele and Rio traveled to Hungary to see the reshaping of this former communist block country. The beauty of the former Austro-Hungarian Empire is beginning to shine again as entrance into the European Union encourages redevelopment.  Among the cities highlights are the Turkish and Roman baths, Buda Castle, and Parliament, all of which lie along the mighty Danube.

Malta

Chris and Angele fly to Malta for the birth of their son, Rio.  We spent the summer soaking up the sunshine and the sea (above and below the water)!  In a country over 7,000 years old, we enjoyed learning about the history and culture of this tiny island in the Mediterranean.  One of the most fascinating cultural traditions is the church festa.  All summer long, villages compete against one another to see which one can create the best religious feast to celebrate their Catholic tradition.

France

In May, Chris and Angele hoped to enjoy springtime in Paris.  Most of the time, the weather was surprisingly cold, but it did not stop us from exploring the city and its environs.  Along with two Parisian friends, we then traveled by car to Normandy to make our pilgrimage to Mont St. Michel, where we walked with sheep and climbed the steps to the great Abby.

Australia

Chris and Angele traveled from Australia’s most crowded city, Sydney, to the one of the most remote places in the far north, Queensland.  Adventures in Cairns and Cape Tribulation kept us busy looking for crocodiles and cassowaries.  Then, we were off to the cosmopolitan city of Melbourne and further south to drive the Great Ocean Road.

New Zealand

Chris and Angele traveled by motorhome through the back roads of one of the most beautiful countries in the world.  New Zealand is coincidentally known as the adventure capital of the world.  From bungy jumping to spelunking to abseiling, we got a good taste of adreline in our systems!

Brazil

Chris and Angele spent a month in Rio de Janeiro during the world’s biggest party, Carnival and still had time to observe the splendor of Costa Verde.

Chile

Chile was a country of extremes for Chris and Angele.  It began with the humid surfing beaches of the Chilean coast to the driest place in the world, the Atacama Desert.  Then we were off to chilly Patagonia and Torres del Paine.  Saving the best for last, we visited one of the most isolated places on Earth, Easter Island.

Argentina

From the Argentine’s love of Tango and futbol to the pain of economic despair, Chris and Angele saw the beauty and tragedy of this once golden country.

New York City

Chris and Angele just had to find out for themselves what it was like to live in the city that never sleeps!  We lived on the Upper West Side where the Met was just a walk across Central Park.

Angele’s Pregnancy

Rio Joseph Jester

Introducing the newest Jester!  Rio has kept us busy snapping photos from moments after birth to his baptism and beyond.
